The design standards for hydraulic elevators specify a mechanical environmental temperature range of 5 to 40 degrees Celsius for proper operation of hydraulic elevator equipment.
However, in the summer, midday temperatures in most areas, under direct sunlight, can exceed this range, reaching over 60 degrees Celsius, unless cooling equipment is activated. This makes it difficult to maintain the proper operation of the hydraulic elevator's electrical and electronic equipment, and the proper functioning of the hydraulic elevator's drive system. Consequently, the activation of the hydraulic elevator's thermal protection has led to increased complaints from users and increased inconvenience for maintenance personnel. Therefore, during high-temperature seasons, an environmental assessment of the hydraulic elevator room is essential for each maintenance visit.
- Inspections involve the following aspects:
1: Enter the machine room and feel the ambient temperature.
- Touch the outer casing of the traction motor.
- If the hydraulic elevator is equipped with a traction motor stator ventilation and cooling fan, check whether the fan is rotating.
- For hydraulic elevators, check whether the ventilation fan in the elevator control cabinet is rotating.
- Check the operation of the cooling fan on the module heatsink of the inverter driving the hydraulic elevator's traction motor.
- Check the heatsinks on the power components of the electronic circuit board and the inverter module for dust accumulation. If so, remove them.
II. Contact the hydraulic elevator user. We cannot guarantee that the elevator room environment is within the specified range. Due to increased costs, the owner recommends lowering the elevator room temperature.
- Install an ambient temperature thermometer in the hydraulic elevator machine room.
- Install ventilation fans and air conditioning in the hydraulic elevator machine room.
