What areas need to be measured in the hoistway of a home elevator?

share:

1.Elevator shaft width. For residential elevator hall doors, accurately measure the clearance between the shaft walls at both ends. The clear width of the elevator shaft is the clearance from the hallway entrance to the center of the shaft's rear wall. The total and clear width of the elevator shaft must be accurately measured on each floor to prevent large deviations from the left and right sides of the shaft. Use a long, thin wooden pole to extend into the shaft from the hallway entrance. Pull the pole out and use a ruler to accurately measure the length of the extended portion. A tape measure can be used to accurately measure the total shaft width. If the clear width is not large, you can also use a tape measure to measure the shaft directly. Be aware that some shaft walls are designed to be thicker at the bottom and thinner at the top, resulting in a shaft that is narrower at the bottom and wider at the top.

2.Doorway. Accurately measure the door width, height, and the location of the elevator call hole. Also, accurately measure the thickness and width of the upper and lower walls to determine whether the center of the doorway is centered in the shaft and the extent of the deviation. Inspect the concrete columns above the door panels. These are generally 300mm high, the same thickness as the wall, and the same width as the elevator shaft. This is where the landing door systems are installed. A concrete beam must be directly beneath each floor's door panels for the hallway door sill system. The height of the entrance opening is generally: the elevator's clear door opening height + 100mm from the finished floor.

3.Floor Height. Accurately measure the safe distance from the center of the adjacent double-layer concrete floor slab at the hallway entrance. Use a wooden pole to measure the clearance from the bottom of the upper concrete floor slab to the footing, then add the floor thickness to determine the floor height. Alternatively, measure the floor height at the left and right staircase exits aligned with the hallway entrance floor.

4.Floor Height. Measure the clearance from the finished floor slab to the center of the cast-in-place slab in the shaft, minus the depth from the finished floor slab to the pit bottom. Pay close attention to whether there are any structures such as building foundations in the pit that have penetrated into the elevator shaft. If so, measure their size and keep records.
